(Owensboro, KY) –Windy Hollow Speedway returned to action on Sunday, August 9th for a night of dirt racing action highlighted by $1000 To Win for the Mini Stock Division presented by Fulkerson Tile.
Greg Wilkes began the night by setting fast qualifying time for the mini stock division with a lap of 17.657 seconds followed by Chevy Burgess and Trey Duncan completing the qualifying podium.
Greg Wilkes would also win his respective heat race on Sunday night along with Chevy Burgess, and Trey Duncan capturing the checkered flag in the qualifying races.
The 15-lap feature for the mini stocks included a hard-fought battle between Wilkes and Burgess before Burgess encountered lapped traffic, opening the door for Wilkes to take the top position and led the rest of the event to capture the $1,000 purse presented by Fulkerson Tile. Don Fulkerson finished in second with Zach Witt completing the podium for the event.
In the Economies, Anthony Plumeri and Ricky Ashby battled throughout the event but in the end, it was Ashby capturing his first win of the season at Windy Hollow. Kyle Lambert finished second, with Mark Van Winkle finishing in third position.
James Embry dominated the Rusty Bolt feature with Joey Summers finishing second and James Dale Embry finishing third.
After a tough race last week, Beaver Dam’s James Dockery rebounded to take home a win in the Crown Vic Oval division followed by Morgan Vanover and Curtiss Lee Stallings.
Jeff Maysey returned to victory lane in the CRUSA Street Stock division by taking the win in the Steve Tong-Owned No. 171. Randall Sweeney finished second with Braden Embry rounding out the Top 3.
Noah Wedding was the winner of the Junior Crown Vic feature followed by Brayden Shelton and Ellie Jewell.
Windy Hollow Speedway will return on Sunday, August 23rd with $5 General Admission Night presented by Kelley Trucking.
