OWENSBORO, KY (July 20, 2026) : The Ultimate Pro Late Model Series made their inaugural trip to Owensboro’s Windy Hollow Speedway on Sunday night for a 30-lap feature including some of the top names in late model racing doing battle with local drivers battling for the $3000 winner’s purse.
Winfield Tennessee’s Skylar Marler was fast from his first hot lap on the 3/8 mile speedway, where he took the fast qualifier position with a lap of 14.324 seconds. Owensboro’s Jeff Maysey represented the local drivers well with a second-place qualifying effort and a lap of 14.398 seconds.
The Tennessee driver would go on to use his qualifying speed in the heat race capturing a win in the first heat race for the series. Owensboro’s Jeff Maysey would secure his second place start in the feature by taking home the win in the second heat race of the evening.
In the thirty-lap feature, Marlar led flag to flag taking home the hardware and the $3,000 pay day. Princeton Kentucky’s Dustin Rollins finished runner-up followed by Braiden Keller. Cayden Boone bested the Owensboro drivers with an eighth-place finish.
In the Jr Crown Vic division, Hawesville’s Noah Wedding de-throned Brayden Shelton by taking home the win after a spirited battle in the closing laps. Shelton would bring home runner-up honors followed by Dallas Applegate.
Owensboro’s Chris Bunch took the checkers in both the heat and feature in the Rusty Bolt division with James Embry finishing in the second position and Austin Neighbors coming home in 3rd.
In the mini stock division, Greg Wilkes dominated the first half of the feature before Jared Ball overtook the Nortonville driver for the lead. But when the checkered flag flew, it was Evansville’s Don Fulkerson taking the win as the cars took the checkered flag. Ball finished second followed Zach Witt.
Owensboro’s Bill Moorman took the checkered flag in the bomber feature, using his years of experience around the Owensboro track to secure the win. Fordsville’s Waymon Bratcher finished second followed by Russell Murray.
In the Economies feature, it was an exciting battle early between Anthony Plumeri, Curtiss Lee Stallings, and Jansen Morris. In the end it was Morris capturing the victory followed by Stallings and Plumeri at the checkered flag.
In the final feature of the night, Jansen Morris took home another win with the Crown Vic feature in the No. 255 entry followed by Curtiss Lee Stallings and Mike Royal.
Windy Hollow Speedway will return to racing action on Sunday, July 26th.
