OWENSBORO, KY (March 26, 2026): Windy Hollow Speedway will drop the green flag Saturday on a landmark year of racing at the 3/8 mile dirt track.

For the first time in its 56-year history, the Windy Hollow Raceway Park is under new ownership with the off-season transfer from Evelyn “Rooster” Miller to Trevor Hutchins and Misty Westerfield.

“It has been a busy off-season at the track. We have made a lot if improvements to the facility, and continue to upgrade the property,” said track owner, Trevor Hutchins.

The Speedway utilized the warm temperatures on March 21st for an impromptu practice session which drew 56 cars to the Owensboro track.

“We had cars from all over the area, and different types of cars on the track. We wanted to not only give them a chance to shake down their equipment but also use it to test the surface and the improvements,” said Hutchins.

The track will host another practice session on Friday night from 7pm-10pm for drivers to make last minute preparations before Saturday’s season opening event.

On Saturday, Windy Hollow Speedway will welcome the Midwest Mini-Sprint Association, along with the Midwest Thunder 410 Sprints. Saturday will also be opening points night for CRUSA Street Stocks, Rusty Bolts, Bombers, Crown Vics and Mini Stocks.

The Windy Hollow Speedway Kids Club will also host an Easter Egg Hunt and an appearance from the Easter Bunny beginning at 3pm.

Gates for the season opener open at 2pm, with qualifying at 5:30pm. General admission is $20 for adults, $10 for ages 6-10, and 5 and under are free.
